Kerala Youth Beats Cancer, Paralysis, Now Aims Cycling World Record

Overcoming adversity with sheer willpower, 25-year-old Ridhil Haris is preparing to set a new Guinness World Record by cycling continuously for 3 days.

Ridhil's life changed forever when he was paralyzed from the waist down after battling cancer at age 20. Enduring chemotherapy and treatments, he was left paralyzed due to medical complications.

For most, paralysis would have shattered their spirits. But Ridhil found hope and courage in his late grandfather's wish to see him walk again. His grandfather owned a cycle workshop, fostering Ridhil's childhood love of cycling.

Ridhil slowly regained mobility by building strength pushing a cycle. Soon he was pedaling short distances, eventually gaining the confidence for long rides.

In 2021, Ridhil completed a cycling expedition from Kochi to Kashmir. In 2023, he cycled to Umling La Pass from Kochi. Now he sets his sights on a Guinness World Record.

Starting November 15, Ridhil will begin intense training for the record attempt - cycling nonstop for 3 consecutive days.
