At 61, this retired Kerala professor is dancing her way to her dream  

Gayathri Vijayalekshmi reignited childhood passion for Bharatanatyam dance after retirement. Now, she has performed over 125 shows.

Gayathri first trained in Bharatanatyam as a child. But set aside dance when she joined as a lecturer at the college in 1986.

After retiring in 2018, Gayathri returned to dance training under the guidance of her first guru V Mydhili

She even became the first woman to present Bharatanatyam at Sabarimala temple. Limca Book of Records has recognized Gayathri's achievement.

Gayathri continues to push boundaries through dance, supported by her loving family and friends.
