As part of its efforts to provide thousands of students seeking hands-on industry experience, Kerala State Electricity Board Limited (KSEBL) is set to launch a web-based Internship Portal to streamline internship and training opportunities for students.

The portal, expected to go live shortly, will be a major boost to thousands of students in Kerala who want to gain hands-on experience working with a major power generator and distributor public sector undertaking in the country.

The portal, which is aimed at enhancing transparency and operational efficiency, also provides a secure and user-friendly platform for students to apply for KSEBL’s internship and training programs. From application submission and document uploads to online payments, the entire process will now be digitised, ensuring convenience and accessibility.

According to officials, KSEBL has initiated the process for launching the portal and has approached Kerala Startup Mission to select a startup for developing the portal. “A major highlight of the portal is its multi-level approval system, allowing for structured vetting of applications for internships by KSEBL authorities. The portal ensures greater accountability and faster processing of applications. It will also offer real-time application tracking, providing students with clear visibility into their application status,” said an official document. Students of ITI/VHSE/Diploma/B.Tech/M.Tech/BE/ME/ Engineering Graduates/BSc/MBA/Law can register for internship through the portal.

The portal will automate payments and streamline communication between students, training centers, and administrative teams. Upon successful completion of internships/training, students will be able to generate their certificates directly from the portal.

The portal will enable centralised management of training centers, courses, and user access, enabling KSEBL to adhere more effectively to its training policies while enhancing administrative control and reporting accuracy.

Officials from KSEBL said the initiative reflects the organisation’s commitment to modernising its services and offering students a transparent and efficient experience.
