Actor Allu Arjun has stepped in to help a bright Kerala student who wanted to pursue her nursing studies, but could not meet the expenses due to her family’s financial constraints.
The Pushpa actor has agreed to sponsor her four-year-long nursing course and bear all the cost of her studies during these years including the hostel fees, Alappuzha District Collector V R Krishna Teja wrote on his Facebook page.
In the FB post, the Collector said that though she scored 92 per cent marks in the Plus Two examinations, she was unable to continue her studies because of the financial difficulties faced by the family following the death of her father due to Covid-19 last year.
The girl came to meet the Collector and sought his support to continue her studies. The Collector promised her all the possible help under the “We Are For Alleppey” project. Since the deadline for filing application to the merit seats has expired, the district authorities managed to secure admission for her in a private nursing college.
The next challenge was to find a sponsor for the student. The Collector, who hails from Andhra Pradesh, contacted Tollywood super star Allu Arjun who readily agreed to sponsor the student’s education, including the hostel fees for the entire four years.
Mr. Teja thanked the actor, the college authorities and others who were involved in the process. “I am sure that she will study well and become a nurse who will take care of her mother and brother and do good for the society,” he wrote.
