As part of its commitment to reduce carbon footprint, Kairali TMT is launching its cutting-edge brownfield unit at Kanjikode, Palakkad, Kerala on June 17 becoming the largest integrated steel manufacturer in South India.
Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, the Kairali TMT factory is poised to significantly reduce carbon emissions and pave the way for a greener future. The top management of Kairali TMT comprising Kalliyath Abdul Gafoor, Humayoon Kalliyath and Pahalisha Kalliyath took the lead in making the new unit completely environmentally-friendly after they realised the need to bring down carbon emissions associated with the steel industry.
The move underscores the commitment of Kairali TMT to sustainability and aligns with their company’s efforts to combat climate change. “The newly established brownfield unit incorporates the latest technologies and best practices to minimise carbon emission,” said Humayoon Kalliyath.
“We have drastically reduced emissions in our new plant by implementing advanced processes. We have adopted clean energy sources. We have effectively replaced traditional fossil fuel like furnace oil to cut carbon emission,” said Humayoon Kaliiyath. The new plant of Kairali TMT has completely avoided emission of pollutants, including carbon dioxide, sulphur oxides, nitrogen oxides and particulate matter.
“We have set a benchmark for sustainable steel production. Moreover, our unit has also implemented a sewage water treatment plant for complete use of recycled water. Kairali TMT is dedicated to responsible industrial practices,” Humayoon Kalliyath added. The environmentally-friendly brownfield unit marks a significant milestone for Kairali TMT in Kerala.
