From this year, if you have any doubts related to the financial budget of Kerala, just raise a query with a chatbot and get all the relevant information. Yes, the Kerala Government is going to develop and deploy an AI integrated chatbot for the public to get relevant details about the state budget.
As per the official details, the public should be able to interact with the chatbot to quickly obtain information on budget provisions, allocations, sanctions, and other financial details once the budget is officially presented by Finance Minister K N Balagopal in the state assembly.
Officials said the Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) has been tasked to complete the procedures for selecting a startup for designing, developing, and deploying the chatbot for this purpose. The KSUM has called for an Expression of Interest (EoI) from startups for developing the chatbot.
“The Kerala State Budget is a crucial policy document that outlines the government’s expenditure priorities and revenue streams. To foster transparency and public engagement, the Government of Kerala aims to leverage emerging technologies to disseminate information effectively,” said the document published as part of the EoI.
“The intuitive chatbot will handle both text-based and voice-based queries. It will also use an AI-driven natural language processing (NLP) engine to comprehend user queries. The most attractive feature of the chatbot will be its ability to present information in tables and charts, making it easier for people to understand,” said a government official.
As per the EoI document, the chatbot will communicate both in Malayalam and English. It will be embedded in all government websites, enabling easy access for the public.
