Kerala Water Authority goes fully digital with online services

Finally, in a big relief to people of the state, Kerala Water Authority (KWA) has decided to fully activate its digital platform for providing all its services. The KWA has activated its exclusive portal called e-Tapp to process applications for all its services including new water connection and payments.

Application for services related to water connections shall be submitted through eTapp online web portal. Consumers have to create an account with their email-id on the eTapp web portal to submit applications, multiple applications can be submitted with this account. Mobile number is also necessary to submit applications online.

Officials said the new digital platform will ensure transparency as the consumer would be able to know the status of his application and if there is any delay, the person could approach the authority concerned. The digital platform also enables the higher authorities to monitor the processing of the applications by each section concerned and get real time information on the status of each application. “If an officer concerned holds an application, he or she could mention a specific reason for holding it. Everything can be monitored and accessed,” said a senior KWA officer.

Apart from applications for drinking water services, e-Tapp will also process applications for sewerage services.
