Finding affordable hostel accommodation is never an easy task for students and young professionals moving to a new city. Drawing inspiration from their personal challenges in finding a hostel during their college days, three youths from Kerala have joined forces and developed an online platform “Find My Hostel”.

The collective experiences of Shiyas V P, 31, Hanzal Salim, 29, and Jithin Babu, 30, fuelled their determination to develop the solution that would alleviate the stress associated with finding affordable and convenient living spaces for students and young professionals.

It was while studying at NSS College of Engineering, Palakkad, that the three became close friends. They soon realised they shared a common passion to start a venture of their own and began working on the idea of launching an exclusive platform for listing hostel accommodations. They formed a startup called Bodhwi Technologies Pvt Ltd and developed “Find My Hostel”.

“Find My Hostel” provides a listing of shared living spaces with a user-friendly interface that makes it easy for users to find places that are affordable and reliable. While Shiyas is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Hanzal and Jithin are the Chief Technical Officer (CTO) and the Chief Operating Officer (COO), respectively.

“The platform has been designed to cater to the specific needs of students and young professionals who often find themselves in unfamiliar cities. The platform provides a user-friendly interface where individuals can search for hostels based on location, amenities, and budget constraints,”Shiyas told “Open Digest“.

“We developed the platform after realising that there was a gap in the market for a platform that could simplify this process and make it more accessible for others,” added Jithin.

The platform incorporates features such as detailed hostel profiles, reviews from previous tenants, and an integrated booking system, ensuring users have all the information they need to make informed decisions. The three friends have, in fact, come up with a community-driven solution to an issue faced by students and young professionals seeking affordable accommodation in new cities.
