Kerala has made major strides in offering IT-enabled education infrastructure to school students in the state with 94.6 per cent government schools getting internet facility.
According to a review report of Unified District Communication System (UDISE) for education for 2021-22 of the Union Ministry of Education, Kerala has made great strides in providing computers, internet and projectors for students.
As per the report, Kerala has provided internet facility in 95.2 per cent of the schools. The internet facility was provided in 94.6 per cent of government schools, 96.6 per cent of aided schools and 95.1 per cent of private schools.
Kerala also topped the list (89 per cent) in providing laptops to students. Laptop facility was made available to 93.3 per cent of government school students, 97 per cent of aided school students and 72.6 per cent of private school students. Projector facility is available in 82.3 per cent of schools in Kerala. Projector facility is available in Kerala for 87.2 per cent of government schools, 90 per cent of aided schools and 69.1 per cent of private school students in Kerala.
An official statement of the state government said with computer facilities in98.3 per cent of government schools, Kerala has ranked second in terms of providing computer facility in schools in India. Computer facility is available in 96.2 per cent of government schools, 99.9 per cent of aided school students and 98.6 per cent of private school students in Kerala.
