In a life that inspires dreams and proves the power of perseverance, a self-made tech entrepreneur from Kerala has become the talk of the town after purchasing the state’s first Lamborghini Urus Performante — a luxury SUV that costs over Rs 4.5 crore. What caught even more attention was Venu Gopalakrishnan’s decision to spend an additional Rs 46 lakh to secure his favourite registration number KL-07 DG 0007 for the car.
What makes this story truly remarkable is not just the luxury car, but the man behind the wheel. Hailing from a modest middle-class family with no business background, Venu Gopalakrishnan started his career as a software engineer, working tirelessly across several IT firms.
After working in the industry for years, he took a leap of faith and launched his own IT services company Litmus7 in Kochi in 2009. What started as a small venture handling special projects has now grown into a mid-sized tech firm, catering to clients across the US, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.
“Although I do not come from a business family, I always had this dream of doing something on my own. So after working for a few companies (including Wipro), I felt it was time to start out on my own. I believed that I could provide clients with a more customized and exclusive service. If quality is ensured, then there are always takers, and that’s what pushed me into starting a company which would provide the best of services,” Venu was quoted as saying in an interview published in Authentic Journeys.
The recent purchase of the Lamborghini Urus Performante is not just a celebration of financial success but also a deeply personal achievement for the entrepreneur. The cherry on top was his Rs 46 lakh bid to acquire the unique registration number.
His story has sparked admiration across social media and the tech community in Kerala. For many young professionals, his journey stands as a testament that one doesn’t need a business legacy to become a successful entrepreneur — just vision, grit, and the courage to start.
