Kerala government has decided to launch an e-commerce platform to help farmers and agri-startups to find markets for their products globally. In a significant development, Kerala Agricultural Department will soon start the e-commerce platform “Kerala Agro” to sell farm produce and agri-based value added products.
Agriculture Minister P Prasad revealed the project details while inaugurating Vaiga DPR clinic in Ernakulam which is aimed at helping farmers and youngsters prepare a detailed project report (DPR) to launch agri-startups to make value-added products from agricultural produce. The Minister said more DPR clinics will be organised to guide agricultural entrepreneurs.
“We are aiming to bring more people into farming and help them start agri-based startups. A detailed project document is a must to set up startups in the agri sector. Through the Vaiga 2023 DPR Clinics, we aim to become an asset for the development of entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. We will continue to organise clinics at regular intervals,” he said.
Every entrepreneur registered with the clinic will have the opportunity to get the assistance of experts in preparing a DPR required to start and make their venture successful and also get benefit from government schemes. Various entrepreneurs, scientists, economists and technologists in the field will participate in the clinics to help the entrepreneurs. The experts will analyse the ideas of entrepreneurs and a DPR will be prepared to guide their ventures.
