As part of offering better service to the public in all departments using digital interface, Kerala government has rolled out a system to offer digital copies of title deeds to people in select districts of Kerala. As per the latest details, title deeds are now accessible online in selected districts in Kerala for the public. Any one who wants a digital copy of the title deed should apply through Pearl.registration.Kerala.gov.in’s ‘Certificate’ menu.
“Residents of Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Ernakulam districts can now apply for their copies of title deeds digitally. By submitting an online application and paying the fee, digital copies of the document with digital signature will be prepared from the relevant sub-registrar’s office and it can be easily downloaded by the applicants,” said an official statement.
Officials said the new digital interface will be helpful to people who have to earlier physically visit the sub-registrar office concerned and file an application for getting a certified copy of their title deed. “Now the service is introduced only in three districts, but it will be rolled out in other districts in a phased manner,” the officials said.
To prevent fraudulent activities in land deals, the government has also decided to use biometric information in the Aadhar card for land registration. The government has already made necessary amendment to the registration guidelines and issued a notification in this regard.
