Tour operators in Kerala are busy preparing Ayodhya pilgrim tour packages as there have been more inquiries from Malayalees keen on embarking on a spiritual journey to Ayodhya Ram Mandir following its inauguration on Monday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Responding to this growing demand, several tour agencies in Kerala are now rolling out specialised Ayodhya tour packages to cater to the needs of discerning Kerala travellers.
“Spiritual and religious tourism always has a lot of takers in Kerala. Now, with Ayodhya Ram Mandir becoming a reality, it will be one of the most sought-after destinations for travellers from Kerala. We will be coming out with different tour packages as per the inquiries,” said Travel Agents Federation of India-Kerala Chairman Paulose K Mathew.
Industry experts say Malayalees will definitely have a desire to explore the cultural and religious heritage of Ayodhya. Tour operators, quick to recognise this trend, are curating packages that combine spiritual exploration with modern amenities. The Ayodhya tour packages are designed to provide a seamless travel experience, ensuring that pilgrims can immerse themselves in the rich history and spirituality of the region.
Saby Jose, director of Kerala Destinations Private Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the sudden surge in demand. “We are getting noticeable inquiries from people across Kerala who are keen to visit Ayodhya. We are planning to introduce specially crafted packages that cater to the unique needs of our customers,” he said.
Many tour operators have decided to come out with packages that cover all major pilgrim centres like Ayodhya and Varanasi. “We are also waiting for airlines to announce direct flights to Ayodhya from Kochi. We will get more visitors to Ayodhya if there are direct flights from Kochi,” Saby added.
C P Ajith Kumar, former president of Travel Operators Association of Kerala, said there have been a lot of inquiries on Ayodhya travel packages in the last few days. “People are also asking for a package combining the Statue of Unity and Ayodhya Ram Mandir,” he added.
