KOCHI: Kerala tourism has lined up a busy schedule in 2023 to showcase Kerala as the most sought-after destination for European tourists. The government has accorded sanction to Kerala Tourism to participate in international trade shows at Milan, Italy and Madrid, Spain.
As per the latest government order, an amount of Rs 1.43 crore has been sanctioned to the tourism department to participate in the two major trade shows. The government has accorded approval based on a request submitted by the Director of Tourism.
Tourism officials said the government has been aggressively showcasing Kerala in international trade fairs after Covid badly affected the flow of international tourists to the state. According to the details, Fitur in Madrid will be held from January 18 to 22 while BIT in Milan is scheduled from February 12 to 14.
Fitur is the global meeting point for tourism professionals from across the globe. It’s the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound markets in Latin America. BIT is the international tourism fair in Italy aimed at connecting industry professionals in a totally b2b context and also offers the opportunity for professionals to meet travellers directly.
