Are you tired of looking for people to work on your farm or paddy field? Don’t worry, help is on the way. To support small to medium-scale farm owners, Kerala Agricultural Department is developing a pioneering mobile application platform called “Kaarshika Labour Bank Project” aimed at providing streamlined agricultural labour services.

This ambitious project aims to create a comprehensive platform that addresses the growing demand for skilled labour in Kerala’s agricultural sector. The labour bank has been registered as the Agricultural Labourers’ Farming Innovations and Social Welfare Co-operative Society (ALFICOS).

The department has already initiated the process to identify a startup for developing the platform, which will bridge the gap between labourers and farm owners by offering a seamless interface for hiring and managing agricultural workers. The platform will feature a range of services tailored to the diverse needs of its target users, ensuring that finding and hiring the right labour is efficient and hassle-free.

“The platform will revolutionise agricultural labour management in Kerala. It will be a user-friendly and accessible platform that supports the agricultural community, particularly the smaller farms and homeowners who often struggle to find reliable labour,” said a senior official of the agricultural department.

The platform will allow users to post job listings, specify the types of labour required, and set their availability. Workers, in turn, can create profiles, list their skills and experience, and apply for jobs that match their expertise. The app will also include a rating and review system to ensure transparency and trust between users. From setting up hydroponics to land tiling and coconut climbing, the platform will offer a workforce in all localities across the state.
