As 2022 is wrapping up, we have a few new movies lined up to celebrate the end of the year. Here are a few Malayalam movies that have confirmed release date in the coming days.
WONDER WOMEN
The announcement of director Anjali Menon’s new movie ‘Wonder Women’ created a lot of buzz on social media recently with the lead actors posting a picture of pregnancy test. With Nadia Moidu, Nithya Menen, Parvathy Thiruvothu, Padmapriya, Amruta Subhash — and playback singer Sayanora Philip essaying lead roles, Wonder Women narrates the story of six pregnant women. The film will stream on SonyLiv from November 18.
ADRISHYAM
Adrishyam is scheduled to be released on November 18. The movie is directed by Zac Harriss and features Joju George, Narain, Sharafudheen and Anandhi in the lead roles. Other popular actors who were roped in for Adrishyam are Pavithra Lakshmi and Athmiya.
KAAPA
The makers of ‘Kaapa’, starring Prithviraj and Asif Ali, have confirmed that the movie will release on December 22. Directed by Shaji Kailas, Kaapa will be based on GR Indugopan’s story Shangu Mukhi. Aparna Balamurali, Anna Ben, Dileesh Pothan, Jagadish and Nandhu are also part of the movie. The film’s story, screenplay and dialogues are by Indhugopan. Cinematography is by Jomon T John.
THURAMUKHAM
Nivin Pauly’s much-awaited project Thuramukham will also be a Christmas release. The Rajeev Ravi directorial is a period political drama. Nivin Pauly is playing the role of Mattanchery Moidu, the leader of port labourers who fought against the Chappa (tax) system that existed in the 1940s and 50s. The stellar star cast of the film include Indrajith Sukumaran, Poornima Indrajith, Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, Darshana Rajendran, Sudev Nair, Arjun Ashokan, and others.
GOLD
The Nayanthara and Prithviraj starrer Gold is slated to release in December, though the exact date has still not been revealed by the makers. Fans are eagerly awaiting the movie, which is director Alphonse Puthren’s first project after the blockbuster movie ‘Premam’ in 2015. The film was earlier expected to hit the screens in September, but was later postponed. The comedy-drama is produced by Supriya Menon and Listin Stephen.
