T’PURAM: Business conglomerate Hinduja Group will make investments in the state in electric bus manufacturing, cyber security and finance sectors. Kerala Government made the announcement after a Kerala delegation led by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, which is on an official tour in United Kingdom, met Hinduja group co-chairman Gopichand Hinduja. According to an official statement from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), Hinduja group co-chairman Gopichand Hinduja had assured him of investing in electric bus manufacturing, cyber security and finance sectors. The statement said that a three-member team has been entrusted with the task to liaison with the state government prior to the arrival of Gopichand for detailed discussion in December.
The meeting discussed about the possibility of setting up a factory for manufacturing Ashok Leyland electric vehicles in Kerala. The group will also consider opening a campus in the state for cyber security research and services. The meeting was attended by Industries Minister P Rajeev, Norka-Roots vice-chairman M A Yousuf Ali, chief secretary V P Joy and industries principal secretary Suman Billa.
