Kerala government has set up a state-of-the-art skin disease treatment facility, “Aesthetic Dermatology Suite”, at Thrissur Medical College to provide world-class skin care treatment to people at affordable rates.

This is for the first time that an Aesthetic Dermatology Suite in the government sector is coming up in the state. According to health department officials, the comprehensive aesthetic dermatology suite has been set up by integrating the latest technology in treatment systems in the skin disease department.

“While such treatments are available in many major private hospitals, this is the first time in the government sector in the state that a comprehensive aesthetic dermatology suite has been set up by integrating several skin disease departments,” said an official statement.

The dermatology aesthetic suite, set up at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, is spread over 925.36 sq ft on the second floor of the casualty block at the medical college. A living room, a check-up room, three treatment rooms, a dressing room for health workers and patients and a toilet facility have been arranged. The treatment rooms have modern-day lighting systems and storage systems.

Modern treatment facilities that include laser, chemical peeling and microdermabrasion have been put in place to provide solutions for various diseases caused by deformities such as discolourations, scars, other tissues, moles, etc that occur in different parts of the body.
