To attract foreign investment to the state, Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Limited (KSIDC) will conduct pitches in Dubai, South Korea, Israel and Ireland in 2023 showcasing Kerala as a growing industrial hub in medical device, life science, semiconductor and agritech.
The officials of Industries Department said the state government has sanctioned Rs 14 crore to KSIDC to undertake various projects to attract more overseas investment to the state. “A Departmental Working Group has approved the proposal for visiting Dubai, Ireland, Israel and South Korea for participating in different industrial events to showcase Kerala. The government has also issued an order approving the same,” said an officer.
As per the order, Rs three crore out of the Rs 14 crore sanctioned for “Investment Facilitation and Industrial Promotion Activities” has been earmarked for propagating the advantages and opportunities in Kerala. The government had given approval to KSIDC for undertaking the overseas pitching based on a proposal submitted by KSIDC Managing Director.
The details listed out in the order show that KSIDC will participate in Arab Health Expo Trade Fair in Dubai from January 30, 2023 to February 2, 2023 pitching the state as an investment destination in medical devices and life sciences. The KSIDC has also proposed an NRK Investor Meet in Dubai. In South Korea, the KSIDC will attract investments in electronics and semiconductors participating in the SemiCon trade fair at Seoul from February 1 to February 3.
In Israel, KSIDC will focus on attracting investments in medical devices, food and agri tech startups. KSIDC will also participate in roadshows and business meets in Ireland between March 15 and March 18.
