Aimed at boosting tourism, Kerala has established a first-of-its-kind exclusive beach destination wedding centre at Shanghumukham Beach in the capital city of Thiruvananthapuram. This visionary initiative is set to transform the picturesque coastline into a sought-after destination for couples seeking a romantic and unforgettable venue for their special day.

The breathtaking beach, known for its pristine sands and stunning sunset views, will now serve as the backdrop for couples looking to tie the knot in a truly unique setting. The District Tourism Development Cooperative Society has taken the lead in managing this novel project, ensuring that the beach destination wedding centre provides a one-of-a-kind experience for the tourists.

Tourism department officials said “What sets this beach wedding park apart is its comprehensive offering of facilities and services. From cozy accommodations to gourmet dining options, the centre aims to cater to every need of the couples and their guests. The state-of-the-art facilities are designed to make the wedding planning process as seamless as possible, with a dedicated team of experts to assist couples in organizing their dream ceremonies,” the officials added. The guests will be provided with accommodation and a menu that includes seafood and unique Kerala dishes.

The society has collaborated with renowned architects and event planners to ensure that the infrastructure complements the natural beauty of the surroundings. As per an official statement, the first wedding will take place at the destination wedding centre on November 30.

The officials expressed confidence that this initiative would not only attract couples looking for a distinctive wedding experience but also contribute significantly to the local economy. The beach destination wedding centre is anticipated to generate employment opportunities and stimulate growth in the hospitality and tourism sectors.

This ambitious project, which is part of the Shanghumukham Urban Beach Development initiative, has received a total of Rs six crore in funding, with Rs four crore allocated by the Department of Tourism and Rs two crore secured through private participation. An augmented virtual reality gaming zone and a sea view cafe will also be operational adjacent to the destination wedding centre.

With the beach destination wedding centre now on the map, the state is poised to become a premier destination for couples seeking a romantic and unforgettable setting to begin their journey together.
